Did you know? Worldwide, 70% of the 1.3 billion poor are women. The number of malnourished women and children is on the rise. Two-thirds of women are illiterate. Rape has become a terrifying weapon of war. Defenseless women and children suffer the most from wars, disease and famine. Sobering statistics indeed. Even so, we believe that positive change is possible and what awaits us is a challenging future with numerous rewarding opportunities!
A sage once wrote; Those of us who walk in humanity can only but drop our little pebbles of blessings into a sea of enormous need then wait with unwavering faith on a mighty God to provide the joyous ripple effect.
In some respects those words reflect the history of A Woman’s Voice, International as over the years many aspects of our vision have become a marvelous reality. And our commitment, to eliminate needless suffering by changing the lives of women for the betterment of all thus making the world a better place, remains firm.
We are sincerely grateful because clearly we have come a long way, but a considerable task still remains before us. Clearly, these realities are a constant reminder of how much more is yet to be accomplished.
Most of us, me included, are extremely fortunate to live in America. Opportunities abound in this country. We are some of the richest, healthiest, and best educated people in the world. Sadly, most of the world’s women do not share our good fortune.
My Dear Reader; I invite you to take a moment to learn about our programs. Your financial support will enable us to continue to pursue these worthwhile endeavors.
